The Right Honorable Prime Minister of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has extended a warm welcome to all distinguished guests and delegates, including Excellencies, ministers, government officials, thought leaders, speakers, global buyers, sellers, travel bloggers, and media from around the world to join the 4th Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM 2023) in Kathmandu, Nepal, from June 6th to 9th, 2023.

On behalf of the Government of Nepal, the Prime Minister extended his happiness to host the Fourth edition of this prestigious event, which has become a “prominent platform” for promoting tourism in the Himalayan region, presenting Nepal as the “Gateway to the Himalayas”

The Prime Minister recognized the vital role of tourism in Nepal's economy and emphasized the government's commitment to developing Nepal as a promising tourism destination for immersive and transformative lifetime experiences. In his message, the Prime Minister highlighted the abundance of tangible and intangible products and services Nepal has to offer, including rich Cultural Heritage, Art and Architecture, Pilgrimage sites, Yoga, Ayurveda, Meditation, Holistic Retreats, and much more, that are alluring to visitors throughout the year for all reasons.

With swift actions and global collaboration by the PATA Nepal Chapter, Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Airlines, and other prominent associations of Nepal following the end of the dreadful Global Pandemic disruptions, the Prime Minister believes that the Himalayan Travel Mart will and must continue to set a new benchmark for the post-pandemic tourism recovery, marketing, and promotion of Nepal's tourism sector.

The Prime Minister encouraged stakeholders in the tourism industry to come together, share ideas and experiences, and explore ways to further enhance the growth of this highly potential sector. The Prime Minister expressed great enthusiasm and optimism and extended his very best wishes to the Himalayan Travel Mart 2023, hoping for its resounding success.

According to Mr. Bibhuti Chand Thakur, Chairman of PATA Nepal Chapter, the association has been promoting and undertaking all necessary preparations regarding HTM2023 since September 2022. So far, more than 50 buyers and 20 sellers from 30 countries have registered, and there is increasing interest for participation in the mart from several luxury and high end outbound tour, trekking, and mountaineering operators of major and potential new international resource markets for Nepal.
